Great place with free Wi-Fi, comfortable rooms, and a cozy bar area. The staff once brought me water at night, which I appreciated. I recommend the lovely meals here. I'll be back for Xmas!

Finding the reception was a hassle with its signage hidden by bar patrons, leading to some unnecessary wandering. The room felt icy on arrival, taking a long time to warm up, not ideal given the cost of the stay. A handrail would have added reassurance for navigating steps to certain rooms, particularly for those less agile.

The staff was attentive and we would stay here again. Everything was amazing, historic location short walk to the river, the pub, a nature reserve, good experience. Plenty of incredible food, we loved it.

The beautiful room offered ample space and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast had a wide range of options, catering well to different tastes.

The narrowness of the bath at the bottom did detract slightly from the overall experience.

I enjoyed the delicious roast pork and apple sauce sandwiches served in a lovely garden setting by a river, and it was great to have Millfield Nature Reserve just over a kilometer away for serene walks filled with beautiful scenery.

The dining experience was excellent, with a hearty breakfast and a good selection of menu options. The outdoor seating area by the stream offered a peaceful setting.

This was just an optimal selection for a brief pit stop in Basingstoke with attractive value for money. The roast pork and apple sauce sandwiches we had were really good, served with a delicious side salad and chips. Make sure to bring cash in case the Wi-Fi is down for card payments.
